Elias Bowman

Hey! I'm Elias an ecologist working as an Aquatic Science Technician with Fisheries and Oceans Canada in Whitehorse, YT. I'm interested in how ecological research and local knowledge can work in tandem to inform better conservation, management, and land use decisions. 

Through various work, I have experience leading and supporting projects in unique and remote areas: documenting rapid climate change in the Western Canadian Arctic, building and maintaining park infrastructure from the Central Coast to the Cariboo Mountains, or documenting old growth carbon stores on Haida Gwaii.

When I'm not out in the field or at a computer working, I'm probably in the backcountry anyway - hiking, biking, ski touring, climbing, paddling, you name it!
